Well, I can only comment on my own realty here in Georgia. Most women are still looking for marriage and they start looking in college or around that age. It’s not 1950, but a slut will still get a bad rep. Girls in my daughters school that she hangs around with will not be friends with “sluts”….so there is still a stigma there. There aren’t too many Samantha Joneses ( the cougar from sex in the city) that I come across…..but I’ve known a few. There may be BC pills and abortion available…….but that won’t help a woman not get herpes, PID, HPV, Ashermans, or infertility. (Thats why i cant stand HUS, she is teaching young women how to get pelvic inflammatory disease and thats about it). Those are all pretty big consequences I think. The young women I work with are all married and starting families. That’s what every woman I know wants (even the gay ones). Of course, I work I health care…..so no corporate ladders around here. As far as women divorcing who are “unhappy” I know just one. Of the women I know who are divorced its been because of their husbands infidelity with another woman …or in one friends case, turns out her husband was gay. The “unhappy” friend who wants a divorce ….well, we’re trying to talk her out of it. She was unhappy before she got married, she was unhappy married, and she’ll be unhappy divorced too. She’s not listening to us though……there’s no cure for stupid.
