It’s essentially a claim that women feel the sting of rejection when a man (men) to whom they’re attracted ignore them, pay no attention to them, don’t approach, and don’t ask for dates. It is claimed that “passive rejection” is every bit as valid as when a man is “actively rejected” i.e., he approaches or asks, and is turned down or blown out.

Actually, he’s not getting ATTENTION from her. She’s not giving him any attention. She likes him from afar. That’s not attention. That’s just unrequited, unexpressed attraction.”
